THERAPEUTIC AREA MANAGER (HEMATOLOGY/ONCOLOGY)
(Multiple Locations: Greater Vancouver Area, Toronto/West, Toronto North/East, Montreal, and Quebec City)

To enhance our team, we are looking for Therapeutic Area Managers (Locations – Greater Vancouver Area, Toronto/West, Toronto North/East, Montreal, and Quebec City) who are excited by the opportunity to be important contributors to the creation of an innovative Canadian bio-pharmaceutical success story. Reporting to the Director, Sales and Marketing, each Therapeutic Area Manager (TAM) will be the FORUS single point of contact with health care providers at designated regional and community cancer centres. The TAM will have deep knowledge of the therapeutic areas FORUS operates in, treatment pathways and current and emerging therapies in the space. They will be responsible for engaging in scientific, clinical and patient-centric conversations related to FORUS products as well as the broader treatment and management of patients. The TAM will develop strong rapport with HCPs by demonstrating the ability to deliver on HCP needs via deep product and therapeutic area knowledge with a thorough understanding of clinical care pathways. They will use their deep understanding of individual cancer centre needs and work efficiently and effectively to help address those needs, while improving patient access and experience.
Responsibilities include:
- Build effective plans, aligned to corporate strategy and HCP/centre and patient needs, to improve patient access and experience. Execute those plans within the allocated budgets.
- Effectively communicate and contextualize disease state and relevant clinical data enabling HCPs to make informed decisions for their patients.
- Develop a deep understanding of cancer centres’, relevant patient journeys and potential breakpoints in those journeys. Identify and propose solutions to appropriately address those breakpoints to support HCPs and patients.
- Identify unmet educational needs related to FORUS products and therapeutic areas and build and execute educational programs aligned to those needs.
- Liaise closely with the Medical Science Liaison and Medical Education teams in identification of educational opportunities and development of advocacy in territory.
- Become expert on the ForYOU™ Patient Support Program, appropriately liaising between the program and HCPs and other key contacts within the cancer centre to ensure optimal delivery of products and services.
- Drive regional access strategy in collaboration with Market Access team.
- Identify and communicate key insights from HCPs to help shape company strategy, and to ensure the safe and appropriate use of FORUS products.
- Maintain a high level of clinical and scientific expertise through ongoing training and self-education, attendance at relevant conferences, scientific programs, and understanding of key publications.
- Ensure unsolicited medical information requests from HCPs are fulfilled through Medical Information Services. Maintain knowledge of and comply with all regulatory/compliance policies and guidelines.
- Work closely with marketing, medical and market access partners, on key cross-functional projects.
- Collect and report Adverse Events or Product Quality Complaints in accordance with FORUS Therapeutics policies and procedures.
The successful candidate must have:
- A university degree (science preferred)
- Minimum 5 years of experience working in hospital environment – strong preference for hematology/oncology experience – esp. in therapeutic area of multiple myeloma
- Strong work ethic and business acumen combined with an entrepreneurial mindset
- Passion for making a difference for cancer patients and the curiosity and drive to make an impact.
- Ability to adapt to the ever-changing market with a can-do attitude and willingness to be flexible to meet environmental needs
- Ability to understand, interpret and communicate complex scientific information in a clear, accurate and balanced manner
- Demonstrated understanding of the healthcare system and deep understanding of the hematology/oncology space
- Proven record of building interpersonal relationships with external customers; strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Team orientation – thrives in a collaborative cross-functional environment
- Strong self-leadership and high sense of personal accountability
Quebec positions: The successful candidate must be fully bilingual (proficient in oral, reading and writing skills) in both English and French.
This is a field-based role that will require extensive travel within the territory and occasionally within Canada and internationally.
