We are seeking a Medical Science Liaison (MSL) or Senior Medical Science Liaison (MSL/SMSL) to join our team in Québec and Atlantic Canada. This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping the success of an innovative Canadian bio-pharmaceutical organization.

Reporting to the Director, Medical and Scientific Affairs, the MSL/SMSL is responsible for the regional implementation of the medical affairs strategy, plan, and tactics to support the development and commercialization of FORUS products. The MSL/SMSL is the field-based medical and scientific expert for the company. Focusing on healthcare providers, the MSL/SMSL engages in balanced scientific exchanges and medical education activities on appropriate use of approved and in development FORUS products. They apply deep understanding and strong communication skills regarding the evolving therapeutic landscape.

Specific Responsibilities:
   • Implement defined goals and objectives aligned with the medical affairs strategic plan and other medical strategic initiatives within the hematology/oncology portfolio.
   • Identify, establish, and maintain collaborative relationships with medical and scientific opinion leaders, institutions, and research groups to ensure the safe and appropriate use of FORUS products.
   • Provide education to the medical and allied health communities on FORUS products and disease areas of focus.
   • Support the medical therapeutic areas in the development and execution of medical education activities aligned to medical strategy and plans. Liaise with external vendors as required.
   • Liaise with speakers and faculty for the preparation of educational programs. Communicate learning objectives and target audience for the programs to the speakers/faculty.
   • Provide medical support with payer/healthcare decision makers, inclusive of presentations and support of key projects to help ensure enduring access for patients.
   • Increase company visibility and enhance professional interaction with current and future leaders in hematology/oncology.
   • Identify and communicate key clinical and research insights from leaders in the therapeutic areas of interest to help shape company strategy, and to ensure the safe and appropriate use of FORUS products.
   • Maintain a high level of clinical and scientific expertise through ongoing training and self-education, attendance at relevant conferences, scientific programs, and understanding of key publications.
   • Provide responses and fulfillment of unsolicited requests for medical information on marketed or pipeline products. Fulfillment may be in collaboration with Medical Information Services.
   • Provide input into site selection for clinical trials and works collaboratively with partner organization clinical teams as required.
   • Maintain knowledge of and comply with all regulatory/compliance policies and guidelines.

The successful candidate must have:

  Education (Preferred)
     • Advanced scientific degree preferred, such as:
          o PhD (Life Sciences, Pharmacology, Immunology, etc.)
          o PharmD
          o MD
          o MSc with relevant scientific or clinical experience

     • Background in a relevant therapeutic area (e.g., hematology/oncology).

Experience
     • Demonstrated success as a MSL or SMSL, with therapeutic expertise and deep understanding of the treatment pathways for malignant hematology, focused on myeloproliferative neoplasms.
     • Established relationships with Key Opinion Leaders and Healthcare Practitioners within the therapeutic area in the territory
     • Demonstrated understanding of the healthcare system, GCP and ICH Guidelines
     • Proven experience supporting best-in-class hematology product launches by contributing to scientific strategy, engaging key stakeholders, and driving successful market adoption.
     • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional and Medical Affairs teams to develop and implement best-practice solutions that address healthcare provider needs and organizational objectives.
     • Clinical research and clinical trial design experience
     • The ability to understand, interpret and communicate complex scientific information in a clear, scientifically accurate and balanced manner
     • The ability to network, build rapport and partner with external customers, including medical thought leaders, academic institutions, and research group
     • Demonstrated deep therapeutic competency and a willingness to stay current with industry trends and data in the therapeutic area
     • Strong self-leadership and high sense of personal accountability

The successful candidate must be fully bilingual (highly proficient in oral, reading and writing skills) in both English and French.
